Chassis
The AXP8 is designed with extreme buggy looks with the majority of the electronics hidden. Built on 2.2 wheels and tires, this rock crawler uses heavy-duty, high clearance AF16P portal axles are among the design innovations that increase maneuverability for success on challenging trails. The transmission includes a 30% underdrive to the rear axle that dramatically improves climbing and increases maneuverability.
Suspension
The AXP8 also features freshly designed, aluminum bodies, and internal spring IS10 shocks that increase ground clearance and scale realism. Its smooth, high-flex 4-link suspension geometry reduces the effects of torque twist and provides consistent articulation without the bump steer found in 3-link designs.
ASD (Axial Selectable Drive)
Pushing this truck to the next level is Axial Selectable Drive. Unlike a locker, this allows you to independently lock one of the rear tires at will. Known as Cutting Brakes, ASD physically and completely locks a wheel. This gives you the ability to increase turning performance for a tighter turn radius. Optionally, the front axle also can accept an ASD setup (Front ASD Components Sold Separately).
Electronics
The oversized Axial Boulder 21-turn 550 brushed motor, paired with the Spektrum Firma 70A ESC, is able to deliver ample torque to ensure this trail buggy tackles a wide range of terrain. The included Spektrum DX3 Smart Transmitter allows you to take advantage of the ASD by using the toggle found under the wheel of the transmitter. Also, when using Spektrum SMART Batteries, this transmitter is able to indicate the battery voltage top mounted LEDs (Batteries Sold Separately).
